Our initial meeting with a representative from the planning section of Wirral Borough Council established the list of policies that can be given weight in the decision-making process prior to the adoption of the Local Plan and highlighted several points to be considered in the pre-app submission:

• Base scheme on emerging policies

• Implement principles of Woodside Masterplan

• Recognise the importance of graving docks

• Maximise views across to Liverpool

• Supportive of green routes and active travel routes

• Include an existing playground

• Providing and maximising local amenity for existing residents

• Maximise opportunities for biodiversity net gain

• Townscape and heritage impact to be assessed

• Private amenity space to larger units required

• Demonstrate Nationally Described Space Standards met

• Demonstrate 100% M4(2) and 6% M4(3) met (emerging policy)

• Consider sustainability

• Commercial floorspace supported, particularly along the waterfront
